Boosting Traffic to Your Website

Name Your Images

The name if your picture will appear beneath the graphic image in search results. Make the name of your files closely to what is actually displayed in the picture. Photo Editing programs tend to give you default names such as numbers. this will not communicate to the search engines what you are adding to your content. make up your own file names. Use dashes or commas between the names of images. Try to think of keywords that usually grab your attention of the file names.

Alt attribute of the Pic Tag

If we want a search engine to understand that a graphic is in your site or blog you have to tell it. This can be done with ALT (alternative) tags. It is a way  to translate your image into text. That way search engines can see what the picture is all about. Also, it translates your image into a textual reference for users with visual handicaps. If a computer  has images turned off or a slow connection, they will see a image text. Putting  a description of what the image is can make a difference.  Search Engines only understand what you tell them.

Things to remember:
1. the best description of the image is Alt text.
2. Keep it short and simple.
3. Us lower case letters .
4. If the image is the bullets we can leave the alt text blank.
5. Use two or three keywords when optimizing images.

Image File Size

Nobody likes to wait for a image to load. The image size is important to loading the page. If the image is too big the page will take longer to get displayed. You can edit the  height and width of the image so that the image will be loaded easily.
